Lately I've been thinking a lot about how much everyone needs to be loved. Many people don't realize it, but I think we all need love more than food, water, or air. (ok, we can't enjoy the first if we lack the last, but you get the point.) I meet new people, and every time love is given you get so much more in return. Love defies the laws of physics. You can never reach an equilibrium, because when you give it you'll always get more back. Even if the person you're giving love to doesn't reciprocate, the Lord does.
This makes me realize how much fun loving people is. I once can across a quote that, by trying to follow it, has made my life much more exciting, fun, and downright adventurous. "When you walk into a room, pretend everyone is wearing a sign that says, 'make me feel important.' If any of those signs are left when you leave the room, you have not accomplished much." (This is also much more fun if you imagine the signs in different colors with elaborate fonts to fit each person's personality. Just say'n)
Is it any wonder that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ teach us that the foundation of the gospel and of truth is to "love one another" and to "love God with all thy might, mind, and strength" and that charity was the number one trait Christ exhibited while on earth? I mean, we all know that doing service for others makes us feel good, but I'm slowly learning that doing service for others is something you can live off of entirely. Instead of tiring you, it's like a sugar high without the crash (or the sugar) (<- that was a useless comment. As was this.)
So find someone who looks downcast, whose steps are heavy, and their eyes have lost their glow. Tell them "you are special" and most importantly; mean it.
